    St. Michael Golden Domed Cathedral

    Upon arrival at Kiev embark on a city tour of this ancient city. View Old Kiev Hill or Vladimir's Hill in honor of the Prince Volodimir is the place where the city was founded with its historical monuments dating from 10th – 19th Century. It is here according to the chronicles, was the first settlement established by the 3 brothers: Kiy, Shcheck, Horiv and their sister Lybid in 482 A.D. From Sophia's Square view the St. Michael Golden Domed Cathedral built in 1113, which was completely destroyed by soviet regime and restored in 1998. Drive pass the famous Golden Gates displaying the beauty and grandeur that inspired a famous musician Musorgsky to write a composition "Pictures from the exhibition". Other sights included are The Opera House, Kiev National University. Drive along the main street of Kreshchatik and learn about the history of this famous

    street. Near the Arch of Friendship enjoy a magnificent view of the Dniper River. Visit the Museum of the Second World War to view the military equipment used then.

    Pechersk Lavra

    Start your day with a visit the UNESCO’s World Heritage listed Pechersk Lavra Monastery which includes the museums of Historical Treasures (Closed on Monday) and Microminiatures (Closed on Tuesday). The monastery was founded by two monks Antoniy and Feodosiy in 1051 for enchanting and expansion of a new religion - Christianity. The complex of the Monastery includes the nearby and far-off caves, the Church of the Savior on Berestove, Holy Trinity Gate Church, St Nicholas' Church and the Great Lavra Belfry which is the highest in Ukraine as well as the fully reconstructed Assumption Cathedral. Continue to tour Pyrogovo, an open air museum which feature traditional Ukrainian architecture,the culture of Ukrainian people and their rural life. The museum consists of 300 ancient rural huts that were collected from all over Ukraine. Majority of them were moved to the museum and then reconstructed. On display are huts, wooden churches, water and wind mills, also clothes and kitchen utensils dating back to the period of 17th beginning of the 20th century.

    St Sophias Cathedral

    After breakfast, visit St. Sophia's Cathedral the most vivid example of the Old Rus architecture and monumental art for this place, was built and decorated when the state of Kyiv Rus was living through the peak of its prosperity. Here grand princes were crowned and buried, formal ceremonies and receptions of envoys were held, the first known library in ancient Rus and the first school for boys and girls were founded by Yaroslav the Wise. The Cathedral was known as a seat of Kiev Metropolitan. The interior has survived from the 11th century and there have been practically no alterations. Mosaics and frescos of the 11th century, executed with a unique technology, which depict Scriptural scenes, individual figures of Church Fathers, Apostles, warriors and maidens, are of a great value. You have time to explore on your own before visiting The Chernobyl Museum (closed on Saturdays). The display tells about the biggest radio ecological disaster - a nuclear catastrophe on Chernobyl Nuclear Plant, liquidation and consequences of the disaster as well post-Chernobyl ecological situation in Ukraine. More than 7000 exhibits are shown in 5 big halls which include the secret documents, maps, photos, personal belongings of rural life from Chernobyl region, Polissya. After an early dinner, transfer to the airport for your flight to Odessa.

    Embark on city tour of Odessa which will take you to the world-known 142-m long Potemkin's Stairs that was build 1837. Be impressed by the genius of the designer who could create the great optical illusion. While standing at the top of the stairs only smooth sloping surface can be seen. View the magnificent Opera House which is one of the most beautiful theatres in Europe. In the main street of the Humour Capital Deribasovskaya feel the atmosphere of fun and joy. After lunch, visit the Catacombs. Odessa was built on the coquina stones that had been mined out of the ground which explain the long labyrinths spread under the city.

    Odessa Streets

    Explore Odessa Archaeology Museum (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) founded in 1825 is one of the oldest museums not only in Ukraine but also in the whole ex-USSR. Its collection exceeds over 160 thousands of exhibits, being one of the biggest collections of materials and artifacts on northern Black Sea region history. There are halls dedicated to the culture of Scyths and Sarmaths tribes that settled on the steppes of Black Sea region. The museum also has its Golden Treasury room (one of three in Ukraine) which display collection of gold artefacts excavated from the Scythian and Sarmathian tombs, also there are gold and silver coins of ancient Greece and Rome, Byzantine and Russian empires etc. Next visit Odessa Museum of Fine Arts (closed on Tuesdays) with collection of canvases given by Saint-Petersburg Academy of Arts. Twenty six halls store wide range of fine arts, paintings, graphics, sculptures and decoration art, including special room provided for exhibition of Russian and Ukrainian iconographers' works of XVI - XVII. Among its collection are works of famous artists Ayvazovsky, Levitan, Repin, Surikov, Shishkin.

    Moldova Tiraspol

    After breakfast, bid farewell to Ukraine as you enjoy a scenic drive to Moldova. Visit Tiraspol – the second largest city in Moldova which is the capital and administrative centre of the Moldavian Republic (Transnistria) with its own currency, government and ideology. Visit Tighina (Bendery) Fortress - one of the well preserved and most picturesque medieval fortress. Enjoy a drive through the city and the sights such as the main Tiraspol street – 25th of October, The State Theatre, University, City Hall, Main Post Office, The Republican Hall, The Old Rite Church, The Culture Hall, the Open Area Mall, The Church of Nativity and other important buildings and monuments. The most photograph places are the building of the Parliament and the Government, The Monument of Lenin, the Memorial, the bell tower, the Arts Gallery etc.

    Old Orhei

    Visit the Quality Wines Industrial Complex “Milestii Mici” with its natural wine deposit – the largest in the world at a depth of 40-85 meters. The wines stored here are made of various years’ crops, beginning with the 1968 to 1991. The spirit of the age is very well felt here, in this underground wine city, emerged from wide tunnels. You can pass by car these 200 km of natural lime galleries. The constant temperature of 12- 14 ºC and the humidity of 85-95% of this “kingdom of wine” ideally contribute to the preservation of the Moldavian strategic stocks. Explore the medieval town Old Orhei (Orheiul Veci) – a museum complex that presents the remains of different civilizations established between Nistru and Prut rivers. It is situated 60 km away from Chisinau in a narrow, rocky, deep bend in the Raut River valley comprising caves, grottoes, churches, and hermitages. In the “Guest House” near the outdoor museum complex “Orheiul Vechi” and as visitors you will feel like home and will get acquainted with the culture and the traditions of this nation. Enjoy the traditional Moldavian food like: chicken zeama, mamaliga, a large variety of pies cooked by the hosts and drink their home made wine.
